He’s Quit!

Every year since I was little I have bought my dad some perdomo cigars for his birthday – now he’s gone and given up smoking completely I just don’t know what I am going to do. I have never had to think about what to get for him before and now I do I realise I don’t really know any of his interests or the sort of things he buys. Argh, what a pickle.

Broken my own rule

Don’t you just hate it when you break your own rules?

I usually refuse to start my Christmas shopping before December, but with the advertising starting earlier and earlier these days it’s just become harder and harder.

So far I have bought gifts for my Sister in Law, Mother in Law, Other Half and my Mum and I am going into the city tomorrow to do some serious shopping.

Oh well. Next year I won’t cave

A pair of jeans and a purse in…over 3 hours?

So, I went shopping and it was a little disappointing…I only came home with two things, a £2 purse and some super awesome size 14* skinny jeans — yet we were there for over 3 hours, go figure!

We did a lot of ‘recceing’ as my mum calls it though, there was an awful lot of stuff I tried on and liked but it was all a little expensive, assuming that either a pre Christmas sale will be coming, or we’ll be getting sent some discount vouchers soon, we decided to leave it a few weeks and then go back to see if any of them had come down.

We also sussed out some presents for other people, a hat for my SIL, a dressing gown and slippers for my brother and a jewelry box for my best friend.

So it was still a good trip, I just didn’t come home with much this time.

* I mention the size, because the last time I went shopping I needed to buy size 16, woo.

Shopping Day!

I am going shopping in the morning with my Mum, yay…shopping and Mummy, what could possibly make a girl happier?

I have money in my pocket and a wishlist in my head — here’s what I am hoping to get:

* Skinny jeans
* Long sleeved tees
* Knee length skirt
* Night dress
* Heeled shoes
* Big funky ring
* Short winter coat

Bet you I don’t come back with any of it, I never do when I plan and make lists…I always find the best shopping trips are the unplanned ones.

We’ll see though, right now I should get to bed so I am fresh as a daisy for the shopping. Will update you tomorrow for sure.

Rule numero uno when shopping online, check one of the many awesome Comparison Shopping Websites before you buy! It’s something I always do and have done for a very long time, it’s actually a pet peeve of mine when people don’t use them, my sister in law drives me crazy because she just buys every thing from Amazon — she doesn’t even think about looking elsewhere!

Shogging.com is one such site that comes highly recommended by this expert bargain hunter. You can not only compare prices, but also read and write reviews of merchants as well as rate them and see if there are any available discount codes.

My sister in law will learn how to ‘Shog’!

Plans for while I am away

While I am away, we are going to go out for a curry with the other halves work colleagues. We are going to go to the pub with his best friends and I am going to meet one of their fiances for the first time. We are going to go to the Casino with some of his old school friends, we are going to go to the ‘De Lux’ Showcase cinema and best of all we are going to a big Firework display.

I am also likely to spend a lot of time playing De Blob on the Wii which I have bought just to keep me entertained while I am there, I have heard it’s a great game and highly addictive. I just hope it leaves me with enough time to blog

TV is goooooood

I like watching TV, I’d say about 99% of people on this planet do — but I don’t watch as much as I used to for some reason. I always used to give new shows a go, but now unless I know I am gonna like it I don’t bother.

The only exception to this rule is when I am at the other half’s parents place…they have a 42″ plasma and all the channels imagineable on Sky, I wonder if that could possibly have any thing to do with it? Hmmm. I only have basic freeview at home.

I really should look into getting myself cable or DirecTV or something similar, I am sure I’d enjoy having it and it’d be worth the moolah! There looks to be some pretty good DirectTV offers about at the moment, and you guys know I love a good bargain, right?!

DirecTV here I come. Maybe.
