One thing I have noticed, while dropping my Entrecards each day — something I really need to spend more time doing as it’s my only source of traffic at the moment, I really need to work on improving that — is how bloody often people seem to blog these days. It’s unusual to see a blog that hasn’t been posted to in the last day, and a lot of sites have several posts per day. Crazy. I remember when I first started blogging, it was the norm to do one or two posts per week, and I was known for being a very regular blogger because I did 3 posts plus a few features (Friday Five etc) per week.

Times they are a changing, and I need to keep up…I wonder if Friday Five still even exists….

To ad or not to ad?

I am considering adding some sort of adverts here on my beloved bloggy, it’d be nice to find a way to make a little pocket money from writing about my life – and it does seem to be the norm these days doesn’t it? It’s one thing I have noticed while dropping entrecards the last few days, every blog seems to be monetized in one way or another, does no one just blog for fun any more?

I remember back when I started blogging in 2000, you’d about fall off your seat if you saw any form of adverts on a ‘personal’ site, ads were for commercial sites only.

Times change though, and I am more than willing to change with them. I have had success on some of my other sites with running google adsense adverts, so I might give that a go here – though those sites get traffic, I am not sure it’ll be worth it on a site that gets very little. Time will tell.

Further to my last post, in case I didn’t already make it clear, I love blogging.

I have so many blogs now I don’t know what to do with myself. I have two that are not yet developed, one that I have been running since 2001, 3 that are niche blogs about my passions and hobbies and another personal blog.

Addicted? Moi?

Well maybe a little. But what’s not to love about it? I get to share my thoughts with the world, regardless of whether it’s over a deep and meaningful subject like how the world began, or if it’s just to let you know I broke a nail (Fact, that did happen this week, and it made me sad!) — people will come along and read about it.

Blogging has really come a long way in recent times though, I remember when I first started out…if I told 99% of people I know offline I ran a blog, they’d look at me with a ‘HUH’ look in their eye. Now everyone and their grandma has a blog…businesses, social networks, TV show hosts. Tess Daily announced she’d be blogging about tonight’s show later tonight at the end of Strictly Come Dancing. That’s mainstream baby.

I was reading some articles earlier on Veb Logs, they are experts who Blog About Blogging and offer a wealth of information about everything from where to host your blog to how to promote it. Go have a read, it’s interesting stuff…more interesting than me talking about my broken nail any way

100th Toria Rambling

This is my 100th post on this blog, that’s crazy insane. When I started it a little over 2 months ago I thought that I’d probably blog a few times a week and then get bored of it — and during the first few weeks it was sort of like that, but then *boom* I got caught by the blogging bug and there’s been no stopping me ever since

Though I think something I need to do is get my blog more out there, my style is all about me really — I sometimes even completely forget that anyone else can even read this. I talk as though I were writing in a diary, or talking to myself even. I make private jokes all the time and don’t explain them.

Must.Remember.I.Am.Not.Alone!

Shopping & Blogging = Shogging!

As you may have noticed from reading this blog, there are many things I love and two of those things are shopping and blogging, so imagine my excitement when I came across Shogging.com a website that unifies both those things. It is more specifically a Comparison Shopping site that allows you to search by either product or merchant, the merchant pages include any current coupons available, an overall rating, a merchant review and any blogs written by their customers.

Before I buy any thing online I always check to see if I can get any cashback on items via sites like Quidco, search for any available money off coupons and also do a price comparison.

Shogging.com allows me to do two of those things in one simple click, I will definitely be using it from now on
