I have been involved in promotional work in the past. Mainly for my uncles company when my mum used to be his general store manager when I was a young teen but also in my first official job as an adult when I worked in a service station. We came up with and were involved in all manner of crazy schemes — from wearing costumes to performing mini plays out in the street. Ultimately what we discovered though was that simple was best, handing out flyers with a little freebie such as a pen always got the best results — I think we just liked having an excuse to dress up and make buffoons of ourselves.
What reminded me about all this was a blog I come across earlier this evening, blog.epromos.com is a promotional products blog that offers tips about everything marketing as well as highlighting some of the most interesting, unique and crazy methods others are already employing. So what’s great about this blog is that it’s both useful for marketers to get ideas but also fun for every day readers like me.
