I thought my iPod was broken today, and I was not a happy bunny about it.

The back light just would not come on, and if you’ve ever seen an iPod with no back light you’ll know it renders it all but useless, even in broad daylight or with a light on you simply can’t see well enough to be able to navigate.

Truth is I don’t use it that often, so much so that I referred to it as new a few days ago and my other half pulled me up on it saying that it was hardly new, given I have had it around 2 years.

But that’s why it’d have sucked so much if it was broken. I do need a decent MP3 player because when I do use it it’s greatly needed, like when I am travelling on coaches to visit my family and friends back home. So I’d have to replace it, and it’d pain me to spend so much again for something I used so few times (comparatively).

The good news it, it’s not broken. It was simply a case of the battery being really, really, really dead — it’s not been used since June. And me having forgotten how on earth to properly use the thing.

Didn’t I feel silly?
