I have been trying in vain to get my other half to take up some sort of healthy hobby with me, during the summer my big thing was tennis — every week I’d ask him if we should go play at our local park on our next day off….
“No way”
“Sure”
“We’ll see”
“Maybe”
“Definitely this time”
“Not a chance”
…all were heard as his response more than once — but we never did make it.
Now that winter has rolled around I am trying to convince him we should go walking, rock climbing, hiking, mountaineering, something outdoorsy…
“No way”
“Sure”
“We’ll see”
“Maybe”
“Definitely this time”
“Not a chance”
…all have been heard again, so I am not holding out much hope it will actually happen. He’s just not into fitness, a hobby involves sitting down, playing computer games and/or getting drunk as far as he’s concerned, any form of exercise is a chore, not something to do for fun, bah.
I guess I will just have to find someone else to go with because I am really into the idea of buying us some walking boots and big thermal socks, packing up our old rucksack, throwing on our berghaus jackets and heading out into the wilds of Yorkshire for a day or two.
I am sure my best friend would be up for it, she also loves things like that and is always trying to get me to go camping with her. I usually decline though because as much as I love getting outdoors, I don’t necessarily enjoy staying outdoors. Hotels are there for a reason hehe.

I don’t have a berghaus jacket, but if it is ok by you, I’ll tag along!! *giggles*
My hubby is not the sporting type either, and where you get some form of muttered protest, I manage to get meself a “No thanks, you go love”.
Oh, and like you say, ‘staying outdoors’ is not my think either, I just like a good day trip into the nowhere lands of anywhere pretty! You know?!
