I just had a TV catchup night tonight, and I watched the Prison Break 2 hour premiere as well as the America’s Next Top Model one — ugh, I have to say, I want my 3 hours back. I didn’t enjoy either.
I have slowly but surely been going off America’s Next Top Model because I can’t stand Tyra Banks, her me me me attitude and false sincerity drives me crazy. And this season they really seem to have taken it into overdrive. All that Alpha Jay, Beta Jay and TyraBot nonsense was completely over the top and cringe worthy — and why do they all feel the need to scream like they won a million dollars every time she walks into a room? It’s all just too much, I don’t think I will bother with the rest of the season.
Prison Break has also just become nonsense. I don’t even understand what the hell they are doing now, running from ‘The Company’, trying to bring them down, wandering around the Mexican dessert eating each other…oh and yeah, Sarah isn’t dead by the way. The only saving grace is that I like the way they have no qualms about killing off main characters, they dropped like flies in the first episode and a few times I was like…’Nooo, they did not just do that’.
I have to say it’s a problem with most American dramas I watch, they start out amazingly for the few few seasons (Lost, Heroes, Prison Break, Desperate Housewives, Alias) then rather than calling it a day when they probably should they continue to make more and it descends into crap.
I expect the currently awesome Burn Notice to be the next one to go down that path
