I have been with the same webhost for a few years now, I think this is my 3rd year with them – they are quite expensive, more so than most hosts any way, but once you’ve found a good host trust me…you stick with it. Webhosting is a lot like dating in that sense, you have to kiss a lot of frogs before you find your Prince 
I used several web hosting review sites when I was doing my search, they are an invaluable resourse. One such site is Top10Webhosting.com – they’ve selected the top ten best web hosting services out there at the moment based on a number of criteria including price, reliability and available features. I am actually quite surprised to see my host isn’t on there, though as mentioned they are quite expensive so it’s probably that that has kept them off the list.
